Mo Burgers, Mo Problems

If I haven’t made myself clear, I’m a big fan of Bluestem. And I kicked off the weekend at one of my favorite places—the Bluestem Bar. Cocktails, bubbly, and a blow-your-mind delicious meal. Don’t mind if I do!

Jonesing for some libations, my dining companion and I got there early. And to our delight, we made it just in time for the reduced “happy hour” prices (available from 5:00 to 6:30pm). So we decided to go big.

We started with a glass of Prosecco (for me), a martini (for my companion), and an order of the beef tartare. Few things in this world are more decadent than tartare. Raw beef, an egg yolk, and parmesan? Yes, please!

Next, we shared the cold smoked salmon with capers, eggs, crème fraiche, and chives. Scoop this heavenly combo onto a crostini and enjoy a delicious, balanced bite.

For our last plate, we split the burger—the star of the show, the piece de resistance, the end-all-be-all. Sweet God. Words cannot describe. Cooked at a perfect medium-rare, the mouthwatering burger is topped with crisp lettuce, colby cheese, and bacon and is served with homemade fries. This carnivore’s delight is my idea of the perfect meal.

But my problem—now, every other meal pales in comparison. Will I ever love again?

    What a way to start the week. Reading Anna’s Blog. Your usage of words totally amazes me. As always I love hearing about the food. Can we go to Bluestem when I get back to KC?
